American Film Scripts Online	An ongoing project to digitize and thoroughly index 1,000 film scripts. The database is searchable by writers, scripts, scenes and characters..
Ethnographic Video Online (Vols. 1 & 2)	Over 1500 ethnographic films fully digitised and semantically indexed with additional field notes and related articles, and synchronised, searchable transcripts running alongside each video. This worldwide collection charts the development of visual ethnographic documentation as well as the beginnings of documentary, including historic footage and contemporary material from renowned filmmakers and working anthropologists. It supports a wide range of disciplines (including anthropology, psychology, music, moving image, film studies, arts, human geography, economics, international and regional studies) and is a unique resource for researchers, programme makers and those interested in sound and moving image as a research medium.
International Film Archive	Contains several databases including the International Index to Film Periodicals and the International Index to Television Periodicals. Coverage from 1972 onwards.
International Film Index	International in scope. Searchable fields include: title, year of release, director's name, actor's name, film type. Period covered: 1894-1996.
Isskustvo kino	Founded in the 1930s and devoted to art in Russian film, the journal Iskusstvo kino is renowned as one of Russia's premier journals of cinema. Iskusstvo kino offers movie reviews, articles on filmmaking and cinema culture, criticism, and essays and traces Russian arts and culture from the 'socialist realism' era - when film became the prime propaganda tool ("agitki") for instilling Communist fervour in the masses - all the way through contemporary filmmaking. With more movie screens than any nation at any time, the Soviet Union's cinematic legacy helped shape the artistic and social agenda of the socialist world for most of the Twentieth Century.

La France pendant la guerre 1939-1945: Resistance et journaux de Vichy (Voices from Wartime France 1939-1945: Clandestine Resistance and Vichy)	La France pendant la guerre 1939-1945: Resistance et journaux de Vichy (Voices from Wartime France 1939-1945: Clandestine Resistance and Vichy): Providing perspectives from both the Vichy government and the resistance movement, this unique collection constitutes the sum of the French press that actually reached Britain during the Occupation of 1940-44. It is the record of what was known by the British about the hearts and minds of the French people at the most dramatic period of their shared history.
FRANCIS	Indexes multilingual, multidisciplinary information published in over 4,200 journals covering the humanities (67%), social sciences (30%), and economics (3%). The database is strong in religion, the history of art, psychology, and literature (with particular emphasis on current trends in European and world literature). It contains bilingual (English - French) subject descriptors, and has abstracts in 80% of the records. FRANCIS represents a wide range of materials, including serials, journal articles, books, book chapters, conference papers, French dissertations, exhibition catalogues, legislation, teaching materials, and reports.
FRANTEXT	Developed by the Institut national de la langue française, FRANTEXT is a a corpus of over 3500 mainly literary texts from the 16th to the 20th century. It is possible to search across the entire collection or to limit the search to a particular author, title, genre, date or other combination. The sub-corpus (sous ensemble de textes catégorisés) supports more detailed grammatical searches.
French Bibliography 15th Century -	Lists over 1.7 million items in French from the collections of over 200 leading North American libraries. The bibliography includes titles from classical and modern literature, scholarly publications, conference proceedings, legal publications, reference books and periodicals.
Journaux de la Revolution de 1848 (Newspapers of the French Revolution 1848)	Journaux de la Revolution de 1848 (Newspapers of the French Revolution 1848): The revolution of 1848 caused the final collapse of monarchy in France, and in the power vacuum that followed a range of competing voices sought to control the future direction of the country. Cetedoc Library of Christian Latin Texts (CLCLT)	Full-text database of Latin texts from the Western Christian tradition. The database is a project of the Centre de Traitement Electronique des Documents at the Catholic University of Louvain.
Daily Express 20th Century Archive 1900-2000	Part of UKpressonline, the archive of the popular UK national newspaper, the Daily Express, is now under construction. Around 180,000 pages covering selected dates between 1900 and 1982 are currently available. When complete the archive will provide full coverage of the Daily Express from 1900 to 2000.
Daily Mirror Digital Archive	Text searchable access to full page facsimiles of the entire archive of the Daily Mirror, the UK national tabloid newspaper, from 1903 to the present day.
Daily Star / Star Sunday	Part of UKpressonline, the archive provides text-searchable access to full facsimiles of the popular tabloid newspapers, the Daily Star May 2000 to date and the Star Sunday September 2002 to date.
Dictionary of Old English / Old English Corpus	A complete record of surviving Old English except for some variant manuscripts of individual texts. There are 3037 texts in the corpus.
Early American Fiction 1789 - 1850 [-1875]	Provides both images and text for a well-defined and comprehensive collection of early American fiction. Includes full text of works by James Fenimore Cooper, Edgar Allan Poe, Washington Irving, Catharine Sedgwick, Nathaniel Hawthorne, Mark Twain, Herman Melville and many others. Early Encounters in North America	Early Encounters in North America: Peoples, cultures and the environment. Descriptions of North America, either its natural features or interactions among various cultural groups, from the period 1534 to 1860.

Early English Books Online (EEBO)	Digital images of pages from over 125,000 early English books listed in the Short-Title Catalogues by Pollard & Redgrave (1475-1640) and Wing (1641-1700). Images scanned from the two Early English Books microfilm series published by University Microfilms.
EEBO-TCP	EEBO-TCP (Early English Books Online Text Creation Partnership) Fully-searchable text editions selected from the works digitised for Early English Books Online by the Universities of Michigan and Oxford.
ECCO: Eighteenth Century Collections Online	When complete, ECCO will make available nearly 150,000 English-language titles and editions published between 1701 and 1800, scanned and with searchable full text. The collection is based on The English Short Title Catalogue (ESTC), a machine-readable union list of the holdings of the British Library, as well as those from more than 1,500 university, private, and public libraries worldwide.
Economist Historical Archive, 1843-2003	The Economist Historical Archive 1843-2003 ('EHA') is the fully searchable complete facsimile edition of The Economist, the weekly paper which is essential reading for anyone engaged in politics, current affairs and all aspects of business and trade worldwide. In 8,000 issues and more than 600,000 pages, EHA offers full-colour images, multiple search indexes, topic and area supplements and surveys, together with a gallery of front covers and a selection of exportable financial tables.
Eighteenth Century Fiction	96 complete works in English prose by writers from the British Isles. Includes Sterne's Tristram Shandy, and two different editions of Richardson's Clarissa and Pamela and of Swift's Gulliver's Travels. (An individual collection within Literature Online)
English Drama	A combination of Chadwyck-Healey's English Verse Drama and English Prose Drama full-text databases. 4,000 plays by 1,200 authors from the late thirteenth century to the early twentieth century. (In Literature Online)
English Poetry Complete	Essentially the complete English poetic canon from 600 to 1900. Over 160,000 poems by more than 1,250 poets drawn from nearly 4,500 printed sources, together with contextual notes and bibliographical references. (An individual collection within Literature Online)
English Prose Drama	Part of Chadwyck-Healey's English Drama online. Contains prose works in English that were performed or intended for performance. Also contains masques, entertainments, and certain closet dramas. 1,653 plays included by 365 authors. There are 42 anonymous works.
English Verse Drama	Part of Chadwyck-Healey's English Drama online. Contains verse works acted on or intended for the stage, which are either wholly or predominantly in verse. Masques, entertainments, translations and adaptations are included, along with certain closet dramas omitted from The English Poetry Full Text Database. Comprises 585 plays written by 212 authors.
Express Group 21st Century	Part of UKpressonline, the archive provides text-searchable access to full-page facsimiles of the popular tabloid newspapers Daily Express / Sunday Express May 2000 to date, the Daily Star May 2000 to date and Star Sunday September 2002 to date.
Faber Poetry Library	A collection of some of the most influential poets of the twentieth century. The Faber list spans the seventy-year history of this major publishing house, and includes the poetry of James Joyce, Siegfried Sassoon, T.S. Eliot, Ted Hughes, Sylvia Plath and Seamus Heaney. In total The Faber Poetry Library contains 140 volumes by 50 poets. (In Literature Online)
Financial Times Historical Archive, 1888-2006	Provides access to the complete run of the London edition of the FT, the UK's leading financial newspaper for the period 1888 to 2006. It includes every article, advertisement and market listing, providing access to thousands of daily price/stock indexes and currency tables - an invaluable source of historic daily financial data.

Goethes Werke	Based primarily on the Weimar edition of Goethe's works, originally published between 1887 and 1919 by Hermann Bohlau. It is supplemented by material not found in the Weimar edition, namely Goethe's Gesprache, edited by Woldemar Freiherr von Biedermann (Leipzig 1889-1896) and all the letters discovered since the completion of the Weimar edition.

Gutenberg-e	An e-book collection produced by Columbia University Press in collaboration with the American Historical Association. It includes historical monographs on Africa, South Asia, colonial Latin America, Europe, North America, military history, and the history of foreign relations.
Illustrated London News Historical Archive, 1842-2003	Provides access to the entire run of this influential illustrated newspaper in a fully searchable digital format. High-quality colour facsimile images bring to life more than 150 years of social, political and cultural history.
JISC Historic Books	Digital facsimiles and full-text searching of some 360,000 British and English-language printed books, pamphlets and ephemeral items. Material dates from the 15th to late 19th centuries. The platform allows cross-searching of 'Early English Books Online' and 'Eighteenth Century Collections Online', along with selected 19th century books from the British Library.
King James Bible	The King James Version is an English translation of the Holy Bible, commissioned for the benefit of the Church of England at the behest of King James I of England and first published in 1611.
Literature Online	A fully searchable library of more than 200,000 works of English and American poetry, drama and prose, plus biographies, bibliographies, secondary sources and web links.
Literature Resource Center	Provides access to biographies, bibliographies and critical analysis of authors from every age and literary discipline. It covers more than 90,000 novelists, poets, essayists, journalists and other writers, with in-depth coverage of 2,000 of the most-studied authors.

Middle English Compendium	Designed to offer easy access to and interconnectivity between three major Middle English electronic resources: an electronic version of the Middle English Dictionary, a HyperBibliography of Middle English prose and verse, based on the MED bibliographies, a Corpus of Middle English Prose and Verse, as well as links to an associated network of electronic resources.

Past Masters	Full text electronic database covering philosophy, the history of political thought and theory, education, religious studies, economics, classics, history and German studies.
Patrologia Latina	An electronic version of the first edition of Jacques-Paul Migne's Patrologia Latina, published between 1844 and 1855, and the four volumes of indexes published between 1862 and 1865.
Picture Post Historical Archive, 1938-1957	The Picture Post Historical Archive, 1938-1957 is the complete, fully text searchable facsimile archive of the Picture Post, the British news magazine notable for its ground-breaking use of photo-journalism.
Royal Irish Academy Archive of Celtic Latin Literature	Contains texts from important authors such as St. Patrick, Augustinus Hibernicus, Columbanus, Sedulius Scottus, John Scottus Eriugena, Peter Abelard. Over one hundred saints' lives are included as well as many theological works, liturgical, legislative and penitential works and inscriptions. More than 400 Latin works from over 100 known and unknown authors are included.
Scottish Women Poets of the Romantic Period	Includes some 60 volumes from 47 poets, together with critical and biographical essays.
Shakespeare (Editions and adaptations)	Contains: 11 major editions from the First Folio of 1623 to the Cambridge edition of 1863-6; 28 separate contemporary printings of individual plays and poems; selected apocrypha and related works. Also contains more than 100 adaptations, sequels, burlesques etc. from the seventeenth, eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.
Times Digital Archive	A digital edition of The Times, using keyword searching and hit-term highlighting to retrieve full facsimile images of either a specific article or a complete page. The period covered is 1785-1985. Print instructions. (See also above, Palmer's Index and Full Text.)
UKpressonline	UKpressonline provides text searchable access to full page facsimiles of some of the UK's biggest selling popular newspapers of the 20th and 21st centuries. The archive is currently under construction but already complete are the Daily Mirror 1903 to date, Daily Express / Sunday Express May 2000 to date, the Daily Star May 2000 to date, and the Star Sunday September 2002 to date. The Daily Express 20th Century Archive is now under construction and around 180,000 pages covering selected dates between 1900 and 1982 are also currently available.
Underground & Independent Comics, Comix, and Graphic Novels	A scholarly online collection for researchers of adult comic books and graphic novels. Beginning with the first underground comix from the 1960s to the work of modern sequential artists to the present day, content is supplemented by interviews, criticism, and journal articles. Note: contains graphic material that some may find offensive.
Vogue Archive	Entire run of Vogue magazine (US edition) from 1892 to the present day,  including all text, graphics, ads, covers and fold-outs, indexed and in colour. Contents represent the work of  designers, photographers, stylists and illustrators of the 20th and 21st centuries and are a primary source for the study of fashion, gender and modern social history.
Women Writers Online	The Women Writers Project textbase, containing texts by women writers from the period 1400 to 1850.

German studies

Bavarian State Library Catalogue	Contains records held by the Bavarian State Library. Subject coverage spans the Humanities and sciences.
Bibliographie der deutschen Sprach- und Literaturwissenschaft	An international bibliography of German language and literature, covering books, pamphlets, articles, dissertations and reviews. 1985-.
German National Bibliography	The on-line catalogue of the Deutsche Nationalbibliothek contains records for all books listed since 1945 in the "Deutsche Nationalbibliographie" and thus serves as a German national bibliography for that period.
Goethes Werke	Based primarily on the Weimar edition of Goethe's works, originally published between 1887 and 1919 by Hermann Bohlau. It is supplemented by material not found in the Weimar edition, namely Goethe's Gesprache, edited by Woldemar Freiherr von Biedermann (Leipzig 1889-1896) and all the letters discovered since the completion of the Weimar edition.
