Name	Brief Description
Faber Poetry Library	A collection of some of the most influential poets of the twentieth century. The Faber list spans the seventy-year history of this major publishing house, and includes the poetry of James Joyce, Siegfried Sassoon, T.S. Eliot, Ted Hughes, Sylvia Plath and Seamus Heaney. In total The Faber Poetry Library contains 140 volumes by 50 poets. (In Literature Online) This resource is only available in British Library Reading Rooms.
The Financial Times 1982 to date available from NewsBank	Full text of the UK national daily broadsheet newspaper. Excludes the largely tabular sections such as the World Stock Markets and the London Stock Exchange and other price data. This resource is only available in British Library Reading Rooms.
Financial Times Historical Archive, 1888 - 2006	Provides access to the complete run of the London edition of the FT, the UK’s leading financial newspaper for the period 1888 to 2006. It includes every article, advertisement and market listing, providing access to thousands of daily price/stock indexes and currency tables – an invaluable source of historic daily financial data. This resource is only available in British Library Reading Rooms.
Findmypast.com	You can search Births, Marriages and Deaths Indexes for England and Wales from 1837 to 2002 and British nationals overseas from 1761 to 1944, census returns 1841-1891, military and migration records and local and occupational directories. This is a pay-per-view Internet site.
Foreign Law Guide (FLaG)	Offers collection level descriptions of foreign legal holdings of UK research libraries. This resource is freely available on the Internet.
Food Science and Technology Abstracts 1990 to present and 1969 to 1989	Covers food sciences, food products and food processing, including journal articles, books, conferences, reports, patents and legislation. This resource is only available in British Library Reading Rooms.
FreeBMD	FreeBMD is an ongoing project, the aim of which is to transcribe the Civil Registration index of births, marriages and deaths for England and Wales, and to provide free Internet access to the transcribed records. It is a part of the FreeUKGEN family, which also includes FreeCEN (Census data) and FreeREG (Parish Registers). This site is freely available on the Internet.
Gale News Vault	Gale News Vault allows the cross-searching of our Gale newspaper archives subscriptions including 19th Century British Library Newspapers, The Times Digital Archive, the Illustrated London News, The Financial Times Historical Archive and 19th Century UK Periodicals. This resource is only available in British Library Reading Rooms.
Gallica - La presse quotidienne	Gallica, the digital library of the Bibliothéque nationale de France, hosts numerous newspaper titles from the 19th and early 20th centuries. Titles currently include Le Figaro (1830-1942), Le Temps (1861-1935), La Croix (1883-1944), L'Humanité (1904-1944), La Presse (1836-1858), and Le Journal des débats (1814-1912). This resource is freely available on the Internet.
Geobase 1980 to present	Multidisciplinary database containing bibliographic information and abstracts in the fields of development studies, the earth sciences, ecology, geomechanics, human geography, and oceanography. The database provides current coverage of over 1,800 journals and archive coverage of several thousand additional titles. This resource is only available in British Library Reading Rooms.
Georef 1785 to present	Covers worldwide technical literature on geology and geophysics. This resource is only available in British Library Reading Rooms.
The Gerritsen Collection - Women's History Online	A collection of more than 4,700 publications from continental Europe, the U.S., the United Kingdom, Canada, and New Zealand, dating from 1543-1945. Gerritsen Online allows scholars to trace the evolution of feminism within a single country, as well as the impact of one country's movement on those of the others. It consists of two segments: the Periodical Series and the Monograph Language Series. This resource is only available in British Library Reading Rooms.
Goethes Werke	Based primarily on the Weimar edition of Goethe's works, originally published between 1887 and 1919 by Hermann Bohlau. It is supplemented by material not found in the Weimar edition, namely Goethe's Gesprache, edited by Woldemar Freiherr von Biedermann (Leipzig 1889-1896) and all the letters discovered since the completion of the Weimar edition. GPO 1976 to present	Online version of the US Government Printing Office Catalogue, offering bibliographic records of US government publications. This resource is only available in British Library Reading Rooms.
Griffith's Valuation	The first full scale valuation of property in Ireland, published between 1847 and 1864, is one of the most important surviving genealogical resources. Search by family and place name. This site is freely available on the Internet.
The Guardian (1821-2003) and The Observer (1791-2003)	Offers full facsimile page and article images with word searchable text back to the first issue of The Guardian (1821-2003) and The Observer (1791-2003). Part of Pro Quest Historical Newspapers.
Health-Direction	Provides detailed information on NHS organisations, including Health Authorities and PCGs, covering their priorities, their personnel and full text of the documents they produce. This resource is freely available on the Internet.
HMIC Health Management Information Consortium	Comprising of the UK Department of Health Library & Information Services, the Nuffield Institute for Health Information Resource Centre of Leeds University Library, and the King's Fund Library. This resource is only available in British Library Reading Rooms.
ICONDA 1976 to present	The CIB International Construction Database covering all forms of building construction, architecture and planning. This resource is only available in British Library Reading Rooms.
Illustrated London News Historical Archive 1842 - 2003	Provides access to the entire run of this influential illustrated newspaper in a fully searchable digital format. High-quality colour facsimile images bring to life more than 150 years of social, political and cultural history. This resource is only available in British Library Reading Rooms.
IMID: Institute of Management International Database	Contains over 86,000 abstracts of international management materials arranged in five cross-searchable databases including books, journal articles, management working papers and audio-visual material. This resource is only available in British Library Reading Rooms.
Index Islamicus	Index Islamicus is the international classified bibliography of publications in European languages on all aspects of Islam and the Muslim world. The publications recorded are (journal) articles, books and reviews. All essays and papers contained in multi-author volumes are recorded, classified and indexed separately. About 2500 periodicals are surveyed, including general history, social science, history of science and arts titles as well as specialist area- and subject-based ones. Some relevant articles and reviews published electronically are also recorded. This resource is only available in British Library Reading Rooms.
India Office Family History Search	The India Office Family History Search database will eventually provide access to around 300,000 brief records for births, marriages, military and naval service, deaths, burials, baptisms, bonds, pensions, wills and brief biographies of Europeans in British India up to 1947. (The information is taken from the biographical card index in the Asian and African Studies reading room. If you cannot find someone in this database, please see our family history web pages for further information on other sources you could consult.) This site is freely available on the Internet.
India Office Select Materials	These catalogues cover the holdings of India Office Private Papers, Prints and Drawings, and Photographs within the Library's Asia, Pacific and Africa Collections. Their main focus is on the countries of South Asia, although there are also considerable holdings relevant to other parts of Asia and the Middle East. This resource is freely available on the Internet.
InsideWeb 1993 to present	British Library current awareness service covering table of contents and some abstracts for their top 20,000 plus most popular journals and conferences. International Bibliography of the Social Sciences 1951 to present	Indexes information contained in more than 2,600 social science journals and 6,000 books each year covering the core disciplines of anthropology, economics, political science, and sociology. This resource is only available in British Library Reading Rooms.
International Film Archive	The FIAF International Film Archive Database is published by the International Federation of Film Archives" (FIAF) and contains several databases: the International Index to Film Periodicals, the International Index to Television Periodicals, the List of Periodicals Indexed, the Treasures from the Film Archives, the Bibliography of FIAF Members Publications and the International Directory of Film and TV Documentation Collections. The main database International Index to Film Periodicals contains almost 230,000 article references from more than 300 periodicals. The database, which cumulates citations to the annual printed volume, offers in-depth coverage of the worlds foremost academic and popular film journals from 1972 to the present. International Index to the Performing Arts	Indexes more than 250 international performing arts periodicals. Start dates vary; includes retrospective citations dating back as far as 1864. Also indexes a variety of documents such as biographical profiles, conference papers, obituaries, interviews, discographies, reviews and events. International Pharmaceutical Abstracts 1970 to present	Includes clinical and technical drug information, pharmacy practice and pharmaceutical education. This resource is only available in British Library Reading Rooms.
International Political Science Abstracts 1989 to present	Provides abstracts of political science articles published in scholarly journals and yearbooks worldwide from 1989. This resource is only available in British Library Reading Rooms.
International Times Archive 1966-1980; 1982; 1986; 1994	Online archive of the International Times, the pioneer in the British underground press. The website made by the Underground Press Archive Group provides access to issues of the International Times published in the years: 1966-1980; 1982; 1986 and 1994. This site is freely available on the Internet.
The Irish Times (1859-2008) and the Weekly Irish Times (1876-1958)	Offers full facsimile page and article images with word searchable text back to the first issue of both the Irish Times (1859-2006) and the Weekly Irish Times (1876-1958). Part of Pro Quest Historical Newspapers.
