Jewish Theater under Stalinism Online This collection contains sources on the history of Soviet culture and theater, Jewish avant-garde art and the Kremlin’s policy toward Jewish society and culture from 1919 until 1949. The collection contains correspondence with ministries, state organizations, and authors; administrative-managerial documents; plays performed by or submitted to the theater, and more fascinating material.

The Journal de Genève
1826 - 1998
A digital edition of The Journal de Genève, the French-language daily paper, published in Geneva. Searches may be carried out by keyword, date or period, with the possibility to limit a search by period or content (articles, titles of articles, images, advertising). You can then view the page or the specific item you want.

JSTOR Digitised backfiles of core scholarly journals, mainly in the Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences but also includes some science journals. For each journal there is a fixed period of time ranging, in most cases, from 2 to 5 years, that defines the gap between the most recently published issue and the date of the most recent issues available in JSTOR.

Latin American Newspapers Series 1, 1805-1922 Part of Readex's World Newspaper Archive, this database provides access to more than 35 fully searchable Latin American newspapers including key titles from Argentina, Mexico, Chile, Brazil and Peru.

The Literary Encyclopedia The Literary Encyclopedia provides an evolving cultural reference work being developed collectively by scholars around the world. It comprises over 14 million words in nearly 7000 peer-reviewed reference essays written by over 2800 scholars, and covers works originally written in English, as well as German, Russian, French, Italian and classical literatures, with growing coverage of Hispanic, postcolonial and other world literatures.

London Low Life London Low Life is a full-text searchable resource, containing colour digital images of rare books, ephemera, maps and other materials relating to 18th, 19th and early 20th century London.

Mass Media in Russia, 1908-1918 This unique collection contains complete runs of kopeck (penny) newspapers, the most widely circulated Russian newspapers in the beginning of the 20th century. They document political and social developments in Russia from 1908 to 1918 and are a mirror of the colorful social and cultural life of the Russian capitals. This collection gives access to a rare source practically unavailable in Western libraries.

Medieval Travel Writing This project provides an extensive collection of manuscript materials for the study of medieval travel writing in fact and in fantasy. The core of the material is a magnificent collection of medieval manuscripts from libraries around the world and dating from the 13th to the 16th centuries. The main focus is accounts of journeys to the Holy Land, India and China. The manuscripts are sourced from the British Library; Bodleian Library; Bibliothèque nationale de France; Cambridge University Library; Trinity College, Cambridge; Universitätsbibliothek Heidelberg; Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin, Österreichische Nationalbibliothek; Stiftsbibliothek St. Gallen; the Beinecke Library at Yale University, Trinity College, Dublin and about 15 other Libraries and Archives to make a truly international collection.

NewspaperSG (The National Library of Singapore) An online resource of digitised historic newspapers from Singapore and Malaya. Site allows you to search the digital archive of papers published between 1831 and 1989 and includes The Straits Times 1845-1989. You can also find information about the National Library of Singapore’s microfilmed newspapers. All images are watermarked and the image quality is variable. The British Library holds most of the digitised titles on microfilm.

The Nineteenth Century Serials Edition (ncse) The Nineteenth-Century Serials Edition (ncse) is a free, online edition of six nineteenth-century periodicals and newspapers. ncse includes full runs of the first five titles, and a decade only of the Publishers' Circular. Titles are represented as completely as possible, including multiple editions, advertisements, wrappers, and supplements where these could be found. Titles are:
Monthly Repository (1806-1837) and Unitarian Chronicle (1832-1833), Northern Star (1838-1852), Leader (1850-1860), English Woman's Journal (1858-1864), Tomahawk (1867-1870), and Publishers' Circular (1880-1890). All six journals are segmented to article level, and can be downloaded freely.

Perdita Manuscripts: Women Writers, 1500-1700 This resource is produced in association with the Perdita Project based at the University of Warwick and Nottingham Trent University. “Perdita” means “lost woman” and the quest of the Perdita Project has been to find early modern women authors who were “lost” because their writing exists only in manuscript form. The manuscripts in this site were written or compiled by women in the British Isles during the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries and they have been sourced from archives and libraries across the United Kingdom and the USA.

PILOTS Database The PILOTS bibliographic database, covering the Published International Literature On Traumatic Stress, is produced at the headquarters of the National Center for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder in White River Junction, Vermont. The PILOTS database is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Its goal is to include citations to all literature on post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other mental-health sequelae of traumatic events, without disciplinary, linguistic, or geographical limitations, and to offer both current and retrospective coverage.
