The electronic databases available in the British Library's London Reading Rooms cover business and intellectual property, the humanities (including rare books and music), manuscripts, maps, science, social science and official publications, newspapers and our Asia, Pacific & Africa Collections.

Owing to licensing restrictions, these resources can only be accessed from British Library workstations within our Reading Rooms and Business & IP Centre.

Except where indicated, titles are available in all the Library's London Reading Rooms.

Daily Express 20th Century Archive 1900 - 2000	Part of UKpressonline, the archive of the popular UK national newspaper, the Daily Express, is now under construction. Around 180,000 pages covering selected dates between 1900 and 1982 are currently available. When complete the archive will provide full coverage of the Daily Express from 1900 to 2000.

Daily Mail Historical Archive 1896-2004	Text searchable access to full page facsimiles of the Daily Mail from 1896 to 2004. The archive also contains the Atlantic Editions, printed on board the transatlantic cruise liners between 1923 and 1931. Dance in Video	Dance in Video will contain 250 dance productions and documentaries featuring some of the most influential performers and companies of the twentieth century. Selections cover ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, experimental, and improvisational dance, as well as forerunners of the forms and the pioneers of modern concert dance. The Dead Sea Scrolls Digital Project	The Dead Sea Scrolls Digital Project allows users to examine and explore these most ancient manuscripts from Second Temple times at a level of detail never before possible. Deccan Queen	Deccan Queen describes the Cantonment, the Civil Lines, the Sadr Bazar and part of the 'Native City' of the Western Indian Settlement of Poona in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Contains historical maps overlaid with demographic data derived from address directories. This model has been used to explore socio-spatial patterning in the city of Poona and the presented analysis concentrates particularly upon issues that concern racial and functional segregation within the local population. Defining Gender, 1450-1910	Defining Gender, 1450-1910 has brought together over 120,000 pages of original documents relating to Gender Studies. The images are sourced from British and European libraries and archives, including a strong core of document images from the Bodleian Library, Oxford and the British Library. There is a good balance between manuscript and printed material and a broad range of document types; written by men and women. Delorme topo USA 2.0	Vector topographic atlas covering the entire USA with Digital Terrain Model (DTM) allowing for 3D visualisations of the landscape. Derwent Innovations Index	Provides international patent abstracts written by professionals. Includes facilities for searching by 'owning company', forward and backward citation and some status information. Dictionary of National Biography (DNB)	Contains over 40,000 biographical articles on British figures. The text of the original DNB is also included in the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography. Digital Dictionaries of South Asia	The aim of this project is to provide digital versions of at least one multilingual dictionary for each of the literary languages of South Asia, and a monolingual dictionary for each of the more frequently taught languages. Digital National Security Archive	The Digital National Security Archive contains the most comprehensive collection of primary documents available. The database includes more than 55,000 of the most important declassified documents regarding critical U.S. foreign policy decisions. There are 24 complete collections, each offering specialized insights, including coverage of the Iran-Contra Affair, the Cuban Missile Crisis, and the War on Terror.
Directory of Open Access Journals	Free, full text, quality controlled scientific and scholarly journals, covering all subjects and languages.
Dissertations & Theses	Index of North American and European doctoral dissertations and master's theses. A large number of the titles are available in full-text. Dissertations published from 1980 forward include 350-word abstracts written by the author. Master's theses published from 1988 forward include 150-word abstracts. Period covered: 1861-. Dissertations read to the Royal Medical Society, Edinburgh	Over 200 volumes of hand-written dissertations, presented between 1751 and 1899. The dissertations provide a rich source for the history of medical education and of the development of medical science. DoPP (Directory of Published Papers)	Provides details of proceedings of conferences, congresses, meetings and symposia published since 1995.
Domesday Explorer	Contains the modern Phillimore translation of the Great Domesday Book, edited by John Morris; high resolution images of the Latin manuscript; mapping of all the searches; searchable indexes; search, navigation and management tools.
