Owing to licensing restrictions, these resources can only be accessed from British Library workstations within our Reading Rooms and Business & IP Centre.

Early Music Online	Early Music Online is a pilot project in which 300 of the world’s earliest surviving volumes of printed music, held in the British Library, have been digitised and made freely available online. You can browse the digitised content in the Royal Holloway's digiral repository. You can also view detailed descriptions of the content via the catalogue records in Explore the British Library. This resource is freely available on the Internet.
Early Russian Cinema	Unique collection of Russian film periodicals published during the last decade of the Tsarist regime. The collection includes sophisticated, bi-monthly periodicals as well as more popular weeklies released by the major Russian film studios. Containing, amongst others, interviews with movie stars and screenplays that are now irretrievably lost, these journals are an invaluable source of information for researchers interested in the silent movie era and Russia's entertainment industry at the eve of the Revolution. ECCO:Eighteenth Century Collections Online	When complete, ECCO will make available nearly 150,000 English-language titles and editions published between 1701 and 1800, scanned and with searchable full text. EMBASE (Excerpta Medica) 1974 to present	A medical database with particularly good coverage of drug literature. The emphasis is on European sources.
Emerald	Provides access to over 130 management journals published by MCB University Press (including 20 on Library and Information Science), and the database contains over 25,000 articles from its archive back to 1989. Empire Online	Full digital facsimiles of printed and manuscript materials relevant to the history of the British Empire. The project is being published in five sections between 2003 and 2007 offering c60,000 images of original documents linked to essays by leading scholars in the field. Encylopaedia of Islam	The online Encyclopaedia of Islam incorporates the entire text of volumes I to XI and Supplement (Volume XII) of the printed edition of the Encyclopaedia of Islam. Additional search facilities and the Supplement enable the user to efficiently search and combine data from a vast corpus of over 12,000 printed pages.

English Short Title Catalogue (ESTC)	Union catalogue of material printed before 1801 in the British Isles, North America and English dependencies worldwide. English Verse Drama	Part of Chadwyck-Healey's English Drama online. Contains verse works acted on or intended for the stage, which are either wholly or predominantly in verse. Entertainment Industry Magazine Archive 1880-2000	This resource contains digitised sets of the core US and UK trade magazines covering film, music, broadcasting and theatre together with film fan magazines and music press titles. Ephraim Deinard	The Hebrew publications of Ephraim Deinard comprise a trove of historical and bibliographic material relating to Russian, Palestinian, and American Jewish history, Crimean and Karaite studies, anti-Hasidic polemic, modern Hebrew literature, and antiquarian Hebrew booklore. EROMM	The European Register of Microform Masters (EROMM) contains microform records covering mainly printed works from all periods and languages from many European countries, from North America and Latin America. ESIS (European chemical Substances Information System)	This EU database provides information on chemicals, covering subjects such as classification and labeling, IUCLID Chemical Data Sheets, Risk Assessment and EU Producers/Importers lists. Esp@cenet	The European Patent Office website. Allowing patents to be searched Internationally by a number of different search terms. Many complete specifications are available. The coverage varies by country. British patents can be searched, by key words in the abstract, as far back as the 1890's. Ethnographic Video Online (Vols. 1 & 2)	Over 1500 ethnographic films fully digitised and semantically indexed with additional field notes and related articles, and synchronised, searchable transcripts running alongside each video. This worldwide collection charts the development of visual ethnographic documentation as well as the beginnings of documentary, including historic footage and contemporary material from renowned filmmakers and working anthropologists. Europe PubMed Central	Europe PubMed Central provides a free-to-access online digital archive of full-text, peer-reviewed publications from biomedical and life sciences research. Europe PubMed Central additionally provides access to PubMed abstracts, biological and medical patent records, searchable grant data provided by the funders of the service, as well as link-out to gene, protein and chemical compound databases.
