The electronic databases available in the British Library's London Reading Rooms cover business and intellectual property, the humanities (including rare books and music), manuscripts, maps, science, social science and official publications, newspapers and our Asia, Pacific & Africa Collections.

Owing to licensing restrictions, these resources can only be accessed from British Library workstations within our Reading Rooms and Business & IP Centre.

Except where indicated, titles are available in all the Library's London Reading Rooms.

Jane Austen’s Fiction Manuscripts	A digital resource aiming to reunite all the known holograph surviving manuscripts of Austen’s fiction in an unprecedented virtual collection. Provides full descriptions of, transcriptions of, analysis of, and commentary on the manuscripts in the archive, including details of erasures, handwriting, paper quality, watermarks, ink, binding structures, and any ancillary materials held with the holographs as aspects of their physical integrity or provenance. Japan Knowledge	JapanKnowledge is a portal to Japanese encyclopedias, dictionaries and databases including Encyclopedia Nipponica, Kodansha Encyclopedia of Japan, Progressive Japanese-English/English-Japanese Dictionaries, Gendai Yogo No Kiso Chishiki, Nihon Jinmei Daijiten and other full-text and partial full-text resources. Japan Science and Information Aggregator	The "Japan Science and Technology Information Aggregator, Electronic" (J-STAGE) system supports science and technology information-related electronic journal release in Japan. Research papers released on J-STAGE are linked to papers on various worldwide electronic journal sites via ChemPort, PubMed, and CrossRef.
Japanese Union Catalogue (Cambridge)	UK Union Catalogue of Japanese printed books and serials. Hosted by Cambridge University Library. 150,000 records including post 1969 British Library acquisitions. This site is freely available on the Internet. JISC Historic Books	Digital facsimiles and full-text searching of some 360,000 British and English-language printed books, pamphlets and ephemeral items. Material dates from the 15th to late 19th centuries. The platform allows cross-searching of 'Early English Books Online' and 'Eighteenth Century Collections Online', along with selected 19th century books from the British Library. The Journal de Genève 1826 - 1998	A digital edition of The Journal de Genève, the French-language daily paper, published in Geneva.
