CRD Databases	Database of Abstracts of Reviews of Effectiveness, the NHS Economic Evaluation Database and Health Technology Assessments produced by the NHS Centre for Reviews and Dissemination. This site is freely available on the Internet.
Global Health	Specialist international public health database which is particularly strong in the areas of tropical medicine, infectious diseases, vector control, food safety and epidemiology. This is a subscription based service and can only be accessed from the reading room.
HMIC (Health Management Information Consortium Database guide (PDF)	Brings together the Department of Health Library Database (Dhdata), the Health Management Information Service (HELMIS) Database and the King's Fund Database. Together these databases contain over 250,000 records citing journal articles as well as monographs and technical reports covering UK and overseas health management. This is a subscription based service and can only be accessed from the reading room.
Medline	Covers journal articles on all aspects of medicine, including dentistry, nursing and veterinary medicine, 1950- This is a subscription based service and can only be accessed from the reading room
Maternity and Infant Care	A bibliographic database containing abstracts to journal articles on topics such as the midwifery profession, pregnancy, labour, birth, postnatal care, neonatal care, and the first year of an infant's life. This is a subscription based service and can only be accessed from the reading room.
PILOTS Database	The PILOTS bibliographic database, covering the Published International Literature On Traumatic Stress, is produced at the headquarters of the National Center for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder in White River Junction, Vermont. The PILOTS database is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Its goal is to include citations to all literature on post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other mental-health sequelae of traumatic events, without disciplinary, linguistic, or geographical limitations, and to offer both current and retrospective coverage. This is a subscription based service and can only be accessed from the reading room.

National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE)	The web site of the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence, whose job it is to appraise health care interventions and then provide guidance on which treatments work best for patients. In April 2005 it took over the functions of the Health Development Agency, and now also provides guidance on the promotion of good health and the prevention of ill health in the population. NHS England	NHS England will play a key role in the Government’s vision to modernise the health service with the key aim of securing the best possible health outcomes for patients by prioritising them in every decision it makes. Formerly established as the NHS Commissioning Board on 1 October 2012, NHS England an independent body, at arm’s length to the Government.
