Acclaimed American author Craig Thompson in conversation with comics authority Paul Gravett

Thompson is best known for his much loved and award-winning graphic novels – the autobiographical breakthrough Blankets and his powerful Islamic fairytale Habibi.

He has followed these with Space Dumplins, a masterwork for all ages which combines breathtaking imagination, poignant family drama and sharp ecological awareness. In the tradition of plucky heroines like Alice, and her astonishing adventures, his new character Violet is on an intergalactic quest to save her father in a bizarre polluted future.

This is Craig Thompson’s exclusive London speaking appearance – in conversation with with Paul Gravett, author of Comics Art and co-author of Comics Unmasked: Art and Anarchy in the UK.

The event will be followed by a book signing.

In association with Comica and Faber & Faber
