Family Events

Family Event at the British Library

Families are welcome throughout the year to engage in creative activities inspired by our collection and exhibitions

We offer free, interactive workshops, discovery days and activity trails that support families to learn together, in a fun, relaxed and informal environment. There’s no need to book. Everyone’s welcome and, best of all, we won’t ever ask you to keep the noise down.

Download one of our free family trails and explore the Library through puzzles, drawings and games:-

Our family events are free and are suitable for ages 5 – 11. Drop-in places are limited to 40 people per workshop and allocated on a first come, first served basis.

The British Library family programme is generously supported by John Lyon’s Charity and The Sackler Trust
