Join a distinguished panel to explore the current state of the biographical art

Michael Holroyd’s biography of Lytton Strachey written in the 1960s was a turning point in the writing of modern biography and has continued to influence biographers since then. The British Library holds the Strachey/Holroyd Archive and has recently acquired another important collection of his papers. To celebrate the acquisition and Michael Holroyd's 80th birthday, join a distinguished panel of speakers including Hermione Lee, Richard Holmes, Patrick French, Jenny Uglow and Ruth Scurr who will be debating the current state of the biographical art and asking where next for the genre in an increasingly confessional and information-saturated age.

In partnership with the Royal Society of Literature.
