Inspection of Cork gaol 1835


This document was produced in 1835 by the supervisors of Cork Gaol.

Local ratepayers paid for prisons, and they were regularly inspected to make sure that they were being run properly.

This document contained the prison inspectors' reports after they visited the gaol. This particular extract comments on plans to introduce education into the prison, and also mentions the work the prisoners do.
