An Account of New Lanark
The new views of Mr Owen of Lanark
I shall not ask for, or accept, any quarter: my purposes have been long fixed; and my determination is, not to give any quarter to the errors and evils of the existing systems, civil, political, and religious, until they shall become so obvious, as that their removal shall be desired by all parties, even by those who now feel the strongest interest in, and inclination to support them. The Rubicon is passed, and the public will soon experience the beneficial consequences.
(Signed) Robert Owen
Mr Owen has published several pamphlets on political economy in manufactories, on the impropriety, inhumanity, and impolicy, for example, of employing children at too early an age in manufactures.
