‘Loss of the Fame’ - a poem by Mr Glover

A year after the Raffles family had returned to London, Lady Raffles was presented with a lengthy poem to commemorate the loss of the Fame. The experience was a chilling one she would never forget. As if her woes had not been extreme enough, the poet has helpfully added: ‘I have taken the Liberty to introduce a Storm, which it is hoped will add to the Interest of the Story’.
