The Argument of Sulphur - table p.2

In order to highlight the mistakes in his opponent's analysis, Dr Rutty here presents Dr Lucas's summary of all the characteristics of 'the phlogiston', sulphur and 'oily matter'. His intention is to show that Dr Lucas has failed to identify any characteristics in the three substances that would be useful experimentally.

About The Argument of Sulphur or no Sulphur in Waters Discussed

This book is a contribution to an ongoing debate about the presence or otherwise of sulphur in spa waters. The author argues against other scientists, and shows the results of a number of experiments that compare the composition of the waters from Aix-La-Chapelle, the Pump Room in Bath , and the Hot Wells in Bristol , some of the most popular spas of the day.
