Here, the author describes the experiences of Elizabeth Booth who, it is claimed, was cured of lameness in the 'Cross Bath'. 'In memory of her cure', we read, Mrs Booth 'hung up her staff against the new marble cross, erected by John Earl of melfort, in the middle of that Bath'.

About The Register of Bath

'The Register of Bath' was written by the Somerset physician Thomas Guidott, and was published in 1694. The book contains 200 accounts of patients' experiences in Bath , describing the healing effects of the town's 'famous Hot Waters.'
