The Register of Bath - Preface 5

Here the author explains that he has not distinguished between patients who drink the Bath waters, and those who bathe in the waters, except where 'considerable Cure or Benefit has been gained by drinking.'

'The Register of Bath' was written by the Somerset physician Thomas Guidott, and was published in 1694. The book contains 200 accounts of patients' experiences in Bath , describing the healing effects of the town's 'famous Hot Waters.'
