Here we read of Benjamin Baber, the alderman of Bath, who suffered from sciatica. After bathing in the Bath Waters he was, according to the author, 'in short time perfectly recovered'.

About The Register of Bath

 

'The Register of Bath' was written by the Somerset physician Thomas Guidott, and was published in 1694. The book contains 200 accounts of patients' experiences in Bath , describing the healing effects of the town's 'famous Hot Waters.'
