Nick Maes - Travel writer

Lecture summary:

Nick will discuss the sense of place in travel journalism and writing, looking at effective techniques and imagery that transports the reader from the page to the location, and drawing on his experience of writing about travel for the broadsheets (The Times, The Guardian, The Telegraph, The Independent and The Mail) and work for World Service and Radio 4.


Nick is a travel writer, novelist and broadcaster. He’s written two novels Not Dark Yet (Review 2002) and The Africa Bar (Review 2004) and is a trustee of the Limehouse Arts Foundation. He also writes and presents documentaries for Radio 4 and the World Service.
