A Written Constitution?

To accompany the exhibition Taking Liberties, the British Library worked with the UK Youth Parliament to deliver three nationwide debates on whether the UK should have a written constitution.

In London, Newcastle and Belfast, young people had the opportunity to meet members of parliament, including Jack Straw, and take part in activities and debates before finally voting on whether the UK should have a written constitution.

Watch short films of the debates and discussions by following the links below and explore ways in which you can use these films to run your own debates in the classroom.
