Ariel software is no longer being supported and will become inoperable.

Published date:

Effective 30 June 2017, Infotrieve’s Ariel Interlibrary Loan & Document Delivery Software will no longer be available for use.  This is a result of the Copyright Clearance Center’s decision to retire the service and stop selling or supporting any versions of Ariel.

British Library On Demand users who have previously used Ariel are encouraged to switch to our DRM Lite delivery solution.  DRM Lite allows users to download content without installing third party software.  Orders can be opened on multiple devices, including laptops, tablets and smartphones offering a fully mobile delivery solution.

Business Account Administrators can select the way they would like to open orders from On Demand by logging in to our online ordering interface and changing the copy encryption format option in the Ordering Options tab of the Business Account Administration page.  Alternatively, Customer Services can update your preferences.

You can find out more information about DRM Lite here.  If you require any further assistance, please contact us and we will help you with your query.  On Demand users could also use FileOpen or Adobe Digital Editions to receive their orders.
