An evening with Ken Campbell
Wednesday 12 December 2007
Ken Campbell (left), the maverick genius of British performing arts, has been breaking the cultural rules since the 1960s. A master storyteller, his shows are mind boggling and hilarious explorations of ideas, words and games. This evening’s event, inspired by the European Avant Garde, is a further excuse for a sideways look at the possibilities of the imagination.
Ken Campbell's stage projects include Pigspurt, Illuminatus! and The History Of Comedy Part One: Ventriloquism for the National Theatre. His screen work includes Fawlty Towers, In Sickness and in Health, Six Experiments that Changed the World and films by Derek Jarman and Peter Greenaway. He was recently interviewed by the Guardian in connection with his show tonight.
