Writing competition - this competition is now closed.

The winning entries were read on Tuesday 5 April 2005, at the Penelope Keith event.
1st prize was won by Gillian Hovell, Birstwith, N Yorks
2nd prize was won by N Edwards, West London
3rd prize was won by Dawn Nelson, Petersfield, Hants
Two runners up prizes were won by Jessica Neal, Lancaster and Brenda Green, Poole, Dorset
Competitors had up to 750 words to convince
our judges that their interpretation of the title ‘The Writer
in the Garden’ deserved to win a beautiful wooden garden
arbour and Tablet computer.

Organised in association with the Cumbria Tourist Board.
The winner will enjoy a wonderful long weekend break in the Spring. The prize included First
Class travel with Virgin Rail, a stay at the luxurious Rothay Garden Hotel
in Grasmere and visits to some of the places associated with William
Wordsworth.
