Our programmes are innovative and challenging, focusing on skills and creativity. Activities are open to all ages, including young learners, informal groups and adult learners.
Everything is free.
Information for Key Stages 1-4 is included below as a guide for teachers.
For KS3/4
The Writer in the Garden is a wonderful resource for secondary school groups to explore independently. Through texts ranging from Paradise Lost and Coleridge's Kubla Khan to Stoppard's Arcadia , explore the notion of a garden as secret or public, wild or controlled. Material mined from rare manuscripts, design sketches and early illustrated books, evokes the rich history of ideas associated with the garden from the middle ages to the present day. How have gardens inspired writers? How is the garden used for allegory, contemplation or political debate?
Why not try this new workshop as part of your literacy programme? Explore transformation in words and in nature and unravel layers of meaning as you engage in your own creative research. Then design your own 'garden of ideas', gathered from images, texts and sounds.

Explore children's creative work and ideas in 'The Nature of Patterns' interactive display. Activities are inspired by the creative work and ideas of Camden children who took part in our Patterns Summer School. Using games, maps and video, the activities challenge us to de-code the meaning of pattern in the world around us. Explore how we impose patterns on the natural world and how man-made designs have origins in nature. What is the essence of pattern? Who makes it? Does it have meaning?
