Narrative 4: Voyage a la Chine

Johannes Huttner, the German tutor of Lord Macartney's page, Sir George Leonard Staunton's young son, described the crowded waters of Dagu, the coastal port nearest to Peking and the astonishment caused by the arrival of the Embassy.
