A Tribute to HM Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother 1900 - 2002
Drawn from the British Library's Newspapers and its Sound Archive, these highlights from the early life of the Queen Mother from 1900 to 1952 are in the form of extracts and photographs from contemporary media. They offer a brief glimpse into the wide range of material about the Queen Mother in the Library's collections. Among them, you can listen to the Queen Mother's own voice (when she was Queen Elizabeth) in an extract from her speech to the Women of Empire in 1939.
