Engraving by Thomas Daniell after James Wales of the plans of rock-cut temples in Maharastra, dated July 1803.
From left to right the caves are, 'Ekvera' (Karli), 'Jugasree' (Jogesvari), Kondooty (Kondivate) and Pandoo's Cave (Bhamburda or Panchalesvara).
This plan and eight plates depicting views of the caves listed above, were engraved by Thomas Daniell after drawings of his friend James Wales. They were intended to be part of another series of twenty-four Antiquities of India which was never completed. The fifth part of the collection of aquatints Oriental Scenery published by Thomas and William Daniell between 1795 and 1808 is entitled Antiquities of India and comprises twenty-four views of Indian architecture.
