Pen-and-ink drawing by Philip Meadows Taylor (1808-1876) of the Mosque of Sidi Masud Khan at Adoni in Andhra Pradesh, dated March 1834. The image is inscribed on the back in ink: 'Mosque of Musaood Khan, Adoni. Building commenced in 1078, ended 1080 Hegira. March, 1834'; and on the front: 'No. 17.' Adoni was held by the Vijayanagara Rajas until they were defeated by the Muslims in 1564. The Adil Shahi dynasty of Bijapur and Golconda built the lower forts and outer walls of the town, which was ceded to the British in 1799.
