Najibabad, a small town 50km or 30 miles south of Haridwar was founded in the 18th century by Najib-ud-Daula, who also erected a stone fort at Parthargarh, to the east of the town in 1755. The town contains several Islamic monuments and the tomb of Jahangir Khan, the Nawab’s brother.
