Pencil drawing of the Mahadeo temple and a hostel for Brahmins at Talcauvery. Inscribed on the front in ink: 'Pagoda at Tulla Cauvery. House for the reception of Bramins.'

The Talacauvery Temple is built around the source of the Cauvery river in the picturesque Brahmagiri Hills. On Tulasankramana day (October 17th) thousands of pilgrims come to the river’s birthplace to witness the miraculous rise of the fountainhead, when water gushes up from the spring at a predetermined moment.
