Watercolour of a steamer, possibly at Rohri in Sind, Pakistan, by William Simpson, dated c.1860. This image shows a steamer moored to the bank of a river, possibly the Indus, with an island fort in the background. Rohri, founded in 1297 and situated on a rocky prominence on the left bank of the Indus, was the headquarters of the taluk (administrative district) of the same name. The town of Sukkur was situated opposite and in between the two was the fortified island of Bhukkur.
