Pen-and-ink and water-colour painting of a rocky defile through the mountains (W. Sind) by Henry Charles Baskerville Tanner (1835-1898), 1863. Inscribed on the front in water-colour is; '(G)oorroo'. '23 March 63'; on the mount in pencil:' 63. Ibex haunt. Sihwan Hill District. Sind.' On back, a mud hut and tent.
Tanner entered the Bombay artillery in 1854 and was transferred to Survey of India in 1862. During his time in Sindh (1863-64) he completed several landscape sketches.
