Pencil drawing by Jane Blagrave of the view of the island of Jhangira in the Ganges at Sultanganj (Bihar), dated 10 August 1822. Inscribed on front in pencil: 'Jehanguira Rocks from the East. Augt 10th 1822.'

At Jahangira, on the right bank of the Ganga river, there are two great rocks. One is crowned with a mosque while the other has small temple with a linga. Many boulders on this island are covered with carvings in high relief dating from the eighth century depicting aspects of Siva and Vishnu.
