Pencil and wash drawing of a stele with a standing image of the Buddha avatar of Vishnu, with a small fakir beside it, by Thomas and William Daniell, dated 24 January 1790. Inscribed on front in pencil: 'Boudu outar'. 'The faquire at whose expense the figures were made - quite naked.'

Hinduism considers Buddha as the ninth incarnation (avatara) of Vishnu. He is represented in a calm and graceful appearance, wearing a robe.
