Engraving of the temples of Mynal in Mewar by Edward Francis Finden (1791-1857) after Patrick Young Waugh (1788-1829). Plate 20 of James Tod's 'Annals and antiquities of Rajast'han or the Central and Western Rajpoot States of India' published in London in 1832. Menal is located in the former princely state of Mewar, the most important and londstanding of the Rajput States in Rajasthan. The Hindu temples and monasteries at this site are situated on either side of a gorge and date from the 9th to the 12th centuries.
