Plate twenty one from '24 Views in Indostan by William Orme'. Orme's drawing is based on a picture by Thomas Daniell. It shows the tomb of a Muslim woman set within a rural landscape somewhere in Bengal. It is Islamic practice to bury the dead. The graves of important people are often marked by elaborate tombs such as this one. In the words of Francis Blagdon, he found this view 'strikingly picturesque and beautiful.'
