Plate seven from 'Picturesque Scenery in the Kingdom of Mysore' by James Hunter (d.1792). This aquatint is based on a picture by Hunter depicting the family tombs of Haider Ali (c.1722 - 1782), the king of Mysore in the mid Eighteenth Century, at Kolar, near to Bangalore. Immediately after Haider Ali's death in 1782, his body was embalmed at Kolar and lay in state for four months before being removed to the Mausoleum at Srirangapatnam.
