The See Cathedral or Cathedral of St. Katherine in Old Goa is the largest Christian church in Asia. It was commissioned by the Portuguese Viceroy Redondo (1561-64) and although commenced in 1562, it was not completed until 1652 when the altars were finished. The cathedral is a fine example of European Renaissance architecture; the interior is Corinthian in style and boasts several chapels and a total of 15 altars around the walls.
