A hand-coloured print of a budgerow on the Hooghly, from the Fiebig Collection: Views of Calcutta and Surrounding Districts, taken by Frederick Fiebig in 1851. This is a view showing budgerows moored beside the Hooghly, with fishermen on the bank in the foreground. A budgerow was a keel-less sailing barge-like vessel used for travelling on the river. Over half of it was occupied by cabin accommodation.
