Photograph of a general view of the 'Darul Bahar' within the Dilkusha Gardens at Barddhaman West Bengal, taken by an unknown photographer in c. 1904. This is part of a album of photographs presented to Lord Curzon, the Viceroy of India, by Bijay Chand Mahtab of Burdwan (r.1887-1941), on his short visit to the city on 2nd April 1904. This photograph looks from the driveway towards the porte-cochère and the main façade of the building which is designed in the European classical style. The Diluksha was the Summer Palace of the Maharajas set in a landscaped garden with a zoological garden and old tanks.
