A hand-coloured print of Chitpore Road, Calcutta, from the Fiebig Collection: Views of Calcutta and Surrounding Districts, taken by Frederick Fiebig in 1851. Chitpore Road was predominantly an Indian part of Calcutta, with a bazaar with a row of shops. It lead northwards to Cossipore, Dum Dum and Barrackpore. This is a view of street traders in the Chitpore Road Bazaar, in the background is a house with a verandahed upper storey in the European style, with a façade of Ionic columns.
