Photograph from the Curzon Collection: 'Vist of His Excellency the Viceroy. Kotah, November, 1902' of the Chumbal or Chambal river, near Bhonwar Khoh, Kota, in Rajasthan, taken by P.A. Herzog and P. Higgins in November 1902. The Chambal is Rajasthan’s largest river and at Kota it flows in a deep, wide stream with a slow current between cliffs and rocks rising steeply out of the water. In the foreground is a large rowing boat with a canopy on board. This view was taken during Lord Curzon’s official visit to Kota.
