It is designed in an Anglo-Indian style with Rajput architectural details such as the cusped arch colonnades and projecting balcony. This view shows the building still under construction. The photograph is one of a number recording sites of interest in Kota taken by Herzog and Higgins when they accompanied Lord Curzon on an official visit in November 1902.
