Photograph of the torana leading into the mahamandapa (great hall) of a Shiva Temple at Baroli in Rajasthan, taken by an unknown photographer for the Archaeological Survey of India Collections: Northern Circle (North-Western Provinces and Oudh) in 1896-97. Baroli, situated on the Chambal River 30 miles south-west of Kota, has some fine examples of Hindu temples from the 10th century, Pratihara period. This view shows the entrance arch with miniature figures carved along the arch.
