The hill station of Mount Abu is an important place for Jain pilgrimage renowned for the group of temples at Dilwara, built between the 11th and 15th Centuries. The oldest is the Vimal Vasahi temple dedicated to Adinath, the first Tirthankara (Jain saint), built in 1032 with later additions. The Neminatha, or Luna Vasahi temple, dedicated to Neminath, the twenty-second Tirthankara, was built in 1230 and later. The interiors of these marble temples are covered in intricately carved decoration.
