This view shows the various palace buildings on the eastern side of the Red Fort constructed by Shah Jahan (r. 1627-1658) for his new city Shahjahanabad. Some of the buildings visible here include the Mussaman Burj, the octoganal pavilion which served as an imperial gransdstand. The Diwan-i-Khas (Private Audience Hall) is to right side and the Rang Mahal (a zenana pavilion for women) to the left of the Mussaman Burj.
