The Buddhist caves at Bedsa were excavated during the Satavahana period in the1st century. This view is taken from a passage cut through the rocks, looking towards the chaitya in Cave 7. The verandah has four large octagonal columns with pot bases and bell capitals which support a carved pair of animals ridden by couples. The side walls are decorated with arched windows and railings.
