Photograph of the entrance porch to Haibat Khan's Mosque at Ahmadabad in Gujarat, taken by Henry Cousens in the 1880s, from the Archaeological Survey of India. This mosque was built in c.1425 for a leading noble at the court of Sultan Ahmad Shah (r.1411-42). It lies north-east of the Jamalpur gate in the southern part of the city. The building is similar in plan to Ahmad Shah's mosque (c.1414) but with more Hindu masonry; most of the pillars derive from Hindu and Jain temples.
