Photograph of temple Temples No. 6 and 8 taken by Joseph David Beglar between 1872 and 1873. Temple No.6 in is on the left whilst Temple No. 8 in on the right in the foreground, partially concealed by vegetation. This group of temples was described by Beglar at the time this photograph was taken as, ''...perhaps, the finest and largest number of temples within a small space that is to be found in the Chutia Nagpur Circle in Bengal.'' The two temples pictured here face in opposite directions and both appear to have been initially constructed as a tower only before being modified with the addition of a mandapa. A wall of rough granite joins the two temple together.
