Photograph of the Feroze Shah's tomb, Delhi from the Archaeological Survey of India Collections, taken by W.Caney in the 1880s. The tomb of Firuz Shah Tughlaq (r. 1351-88) built in 1390 overlooks the Hauz Khas tank and is in the middle of the madarsa that he commissioned. The tomb is plain with a square chamber of plastered rubble masonry with high but slightly battered walls and a lofty dome. The austere exterior is contrasted with the interior which has finely carved plaster work. The tomb contains four unmarked grave and the central grave is that of Firuz Shah, the others are of his sons and grandsons.
