Photograph of a Jain temple at Konnur in Belgaum District, taken by James Burgess around 1874. Konnur is 4 km west of the famous Gokak falls. This photograph shows the side view from the west temple. This temple is an incomplete Jain temple from the Chalukya period, which consists of a sanctuary with a closed hall. A modern hall has been recently added. The temple faces north. The outer walls are decorated with long pilasters and elongated temple towers. An inscription found in the temple mention the construction of a Jain temple and is dated AD 1087.
